It needs to be costly measures to be adapted for redesigning work patterns for employee benefit but when an organization prioritizes their employee wellbeing their teams are noticed to be happier and less stressed. Adapting a few ways to improve employee wellbeing at workplaces not only benefits the employees with their health but also improves their productivity. Let’s look into some of them.

These are 7 ways to improve employee wellbeing at workspaces

  • Allow your workers to have more control over the way they work

Research has indicated that giving a company’s employees more training so that they can engage in new tasks and resolve their workspace problems on their own improves both the employee’s wellbeing as well as their productivity at their work. If an employee cannot be allowed their way of working or their work pattern it will lead them to poorer mental health and heart diseases as well as diabetes in many situations. Employers should allow them to take a call on their work timing and working pattern to make it beneficial.

  • Give employees flexibility

Giving employees control over their work schedule improves their mental health. This can be done by allowing them to have their own work timings and shifts. When employees cannot cope with their stress at work it leads to conflictual relations.  Unresolved conflicts will have long-term stress amongst the co-workers.

  • Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a powerful way of reducing stress in a working space. Worrying about the future or whining about the past experience can only have a negative impact on one’s mind. To engage your employees in healthy working patterns introduce them to regular mindfulness sessions. Provide training on how to be mindful. Encourage them to take breaks and meditate for at least 10 minutes.  Meditation improves their metabolism and sleep and also reduces stress levels which is going make them more productive.

  • Promote mental health awareness

Often mental health issues are considered a social taboo.  If counseling and treatment options are available at the workplace it becomes easy for employees to be approachable. Provide them with mental health awareness programs. Implement company-wide training on wellbeing this, in turn, helps to promote the culture of openness. Additional pieces of training have to be given to the managers to handle sensitive and difficult situations. Employees’ mental well-being is as important as their physical well-being, try to create employee wellbeing programs that focus on their overall wellbeing.

  • Stress awareness

Staying organized, avoiding conflicts, and avoiding multitasking are a few ways companies can reduce work stress. Encourage your workers to check on their colleagues without interceding in their private life. Make sure your employees are finding time to do their activities or relax such as going on long walks, getting clarity on their tasks to avoid burning out. Make sure they do not skip their lunch and focus only on the workload.

  • Social wellbeing

Strong social connections at work make employees healthier and happier. This improves their work performance and productivity. This is one of the important ways to improve employee wellbeing at workspaces. The more your employees socialize they tend to be more open with others; this will help them to combat their work stress and negativity. Create a social space for them to socialize. Encourage team-building activities by connecting with different departments. Celebrate them when needed. This creates a positive social environment with mutual respect and a sense of belonging.

  • Create mentoring programs

There are a lot of benefits of mentoring programs such as an increase in self-confidence, emotional benefits, and tackling isolation. Mentoring helps your employees to learn from each other. This benefits them to socialize and work up their shortcomings. Provide them with soft skills programs, encourage them to participate in community events, and develop networking.
